If your face was glued to the screen during part 1 of the reunion special of “Love and Hip-Hop: Atlanta” (as mine was), you would have caught the promotion for Vh1’s newest reality show, “Chrissy and Mr. Jones.” I cannot express my utter excitement for this new show.
Before continuing, “Chrissy and Mr. Jones” will be featured on Da Boss Is Speakin this fall.
The promo for the show gives us a brief view of what is going on with the Joneses. It seems as there have been some baby talks in the home! This is the perfect replacement (and even upgrade) from the “Ev and Ocho” show as this show will focus on a couple that is actually brought together through love… not greed or fame! The usual suspect is still in the picture: the physycotic b*tch, Mama Jones. The threesome appear to have worked out a healthier relationship between them and have landed themselves their own show. After the last season of the original “Love and Hip-Hop,” it may be safe to assume that either there won’t be a season 3 of “Love and Hip-Hop” or that the season will be missing these characters. Either way, our fix is satisfied as Vh1 is bringing back our favorite characters: Chrissy, Jim Jones, and Mama Jones.
Make sure you keep up with the Joneses! The show premieres Monday, September 24th at 9:30PM.
The reunion for “Love and Hip-Hop: Atlanta” premiered tonight and its host and producer, Mona Scott-Young, delves into the major questions that has been everyone’s mind. No one is safe during the this reunion:
Mona Scott-Young begins the reunion by letting us know that the show was not scripted… I was hoping that it was because this whole thing was f*cked up. Mona wastes no time in asking Karlie Redd how old she is and she makes it clear that… she is not telling her age. Now I am really thinking this bitch is old because she won’t tell her age! If she wasn’t there would be no reason to hide it. She wouldn’t even tell us her daughters age! Next on the agenda, Mona asks the women if they have had surgery. Mimi, Erika, and Rasheeda state that they are au naturale and the audience is pretty accepting but it is when K. Michelle, Karlie Redd, and Joseline don’t admit they have butt implants that the audience calls them out. I mean we aren’t idiots and we are not blind!
Joceline’s history comes to haunt her as her former alias “Shenellica Betancourt” comes up. Shenellica Betancourt is the name that Joseline used to strip under at the tender age of sixteen. Shenellica and her mugshot becomes the hot topic and Joseline explains with ease that the pic is only one of many mugshots she has.
The questions keep rolling and a rather flamboyant audience member asks Karlie Redd of her affiliation with Cash Money. For those of you who don’t know, Karlie Redd claimed on a previous episode that her management is Cash Money and Mack Maine has since protested that statement. Karlie Redd answers that the VP of Cash Money is indeed her manager. We will see in the next few weeks if that is true or not via Twitter.
Smaller topics include the K. Michelle and Rasheeda beef, which gets pretty heated. The two bicker about whether or not K. Michelle’s story is fraudulent and Rasheeda gets rowdy when K. Michelle insults her and the alleged bags under her eyes. Mona also visits the beef between Scrappy and Stevie J where the guys fight over who won the fight during the season.
The first part of the reunion ends with questions about the infamous love triangle: Mimi, Joseline and Stevie J. Joseline begins to show her real colors when she makes it pretty clear that she was with Stevie J for his money and his sex. The focus turns onto Joseline’s pregnancy and Stevie J is asked if he forced Joseline to get an abortion. His answer: “I made a suggestion.” Do any of you guys believe that? Joseline backs him up and claims that she wouldn’t have a baby for a man who has five kids. Right… You just said you was with him for the money and you’re saying you had the opportunity for some child support money and ain’t take it? B*tch please! Mona asks Stevie J if he and Joseline are dating and before he has a chance to answer, she ends the reunion, priming it for part 2.
Overall, I was expecting alot more heated fights but, by the looks of it, next week’s episode has a boat-load of them. Shay and Erika come face-to-face: the fight I have been waiting for. Also, next week it seems that Scrappy may be popping the question to Erika! FINALLY! Stay tuned for part 2 of “Love and Hip-Hop: Atlanta” reunion.
As you may know (by the absense of promotion for it), there will not a be a MWC reunion. This could be either a good or bad thing considering what kind of fan you are. If you thoroughly enjoyed the antics and bickering between the girls, you will be dissappointed in this fact. However, if you tuned into MWC to watch the catty side comments that the girls had to say about each other in the interviews, than you dodged a bullet with there being no reunion. I mean let’s be honest, the reunion would have been focused on the beef between Pia/ Renee vs. Nora and as I have expressed in previous blogs… I AM OVER IT!
So to quench your thirst for more MWC, I will be providing a season wrap up to give you guys one last taste of the five characters we love to hate and hate to love:
Overall, MWC was a perfect example of lightning not striking twice. Vh1 had a gem on their hands with the four original mob wives and each woman brought something to the screen that we were not used to seeing: Drita was the whoop-ass, Carla was the chill mobster mom, Renee was the drama queen, and Karen was the thug. Even with the new addition, Ramona (the b*tch/devil), Vh1 knew what they were doing. However, there was something that kept the MWC from being as successful as their predecessor; it could be the fact that none of the women were wives! As I’ve b*tched about time and time again, the show should have been called “Mob Daughters Chicago.” I mean the show wasn’t a complete bust; it provided us with some characters that we want to see more of and a couple that we won’t miss too dearly.
Whether there will be a MWC season two is definitely still in the air, however, the lack of completely craziness this season may have just been to prime us for the drama ahead. But does all characters deserve a spot on the next season of MWC? Well, vote on the side left bar for the ones you would want to see more of. Since I know you guys are wondering what we think of each of the characters, here is our character analysis of the women:
LEAH: She started off the season as being the one mob daughter who had something to prove: her Italian-ness. She threw in Italian words every here and there for no reason considering not a majority of the viewers know what any of it meant. Her tough demeanor let the viewers know that she was the muscle of the group, even though time and time again she proved otherwise. Leah is actually the only character that wasn’t involved in any fights this season. Could it be that she doesn’t believe in violence or she is all bark? We believe the latter considering every other sentence from her was a threat. We did warm up to Leah eventually but it was when she flip flopped in the matter with Nora where all respect was lost. To be honest, if Leah didn’t return for the second season, we wouldn’t miss her let alone remember her.
CHRISTINA: Before we delve into her analysis, please raise your hand if you know Christina’s real connection to the mob? If your answer is her father, you get an “F.” Her father, from what we heard, was a petty thief and had minimal relations with the mob. Let’s move beyond the fact that Christina isn’t a mob wife or mob daughter and let’s talk about her role on the show. The thirst was real when it came to Christina as she was the ultimate sh*t starter and instigator. The season opener involved a fight between Christina and Pia which occurred because Christina wasn’t okay with the fact that Pia had forgiven Nora so easily for statements Nora “allegedly” made. Then comes Christina’s dinner party where she instigates the entire fight between Nora, Pia, and Renee all while claiming she wanted a peaceful dinner. Due to the fact that Christina’s involvement with the mob may have been a tad exaggerated, the chances of her returning for a second season is slim to none. GREAT! Maybe now we can get a character who is actually connected to the mob. Hey, maybe even a WIFE!
PIA: From the beginning, Pia was our favorite character due to the fact that she was completely REAL! There is no other way to put it other than Pia was not an instigator, was not a drama queen, and was (for the most part) more focused on herself. I know what you are thinking, but sometimes we tend to (unnecessarily) give a bit more attention to those we hate. She always owned up to being a stripper and never downplayed it for anything else (like Nora did by saying she had only work there for 5 months). Another reason why we loved Pia, is because of her transition from the pole to film… photo film that is. We are surely hoping that Nora’s chances of coming back for a second season is 150% and possibly a chance for Pia’s daughter to get a step-daddy!
NORA: We spent time trying to figure out which is our least favorite… Nora or Christina. Nora won. Nora wasn’t always our least favorite; she began the season much like Pia did, humble and responsible. However, it was Nora’s effortless tendencies to burn bridges with each of the girls that rubbed us the wrong way. We did leave her a chance to make it up to us but it was when Nora claimed that Renee’s father raped her every night that we knew that we wouldn’t forgive her. I say the chances of Nora coming back are also slim to none due to the fact that much of her involvement in the show was in her search for her father’s body. Now that that’s solved, what more does she have to offer to the show? Her (un)witty humor? No. See ya Nora, maybe you shoulda made friends with the two best characters in the show, not fought them.
RENEE: She was definitely the fan favorite even though she came second to Pia in our books. Renee started off as our least favorite character due to her ability to JUDGE everything in her path., specifically, Pia. She slowly started to impress us episode by episode with her middle-aged humor and through realizing her ways, apologizing and making it up to her. We also loved her sneaky and conniving ways when she was up against Nora. Renee rose in our charts and became a fan favorite, becoming an anchor on the show and will more than likely be featured on the second season of the episode.
While the show wasn’t a huge hit such as the original “Mob Wives” or other shows such as “Love and Hip-Hop: Atlanta,” however, its failure to deliver comparable drama this season only leaves room for more next season (and hopefully some replacement cast members).Comment below on your thoughts of the MWC and whether you think there should be a new season.
I hate Julie. I repeat. I HATE Julie. I don’t use that word too lightly because it is a strong word, but I don’t understand how someone can be so manipulative and disgusting. I just hope EVERYONE whoops her a** during the reunion once they get a whiff of all the BS she’s been pulling all season. Whew. Let’s get down to the recap:
Mehgan, Falen, and Julie are being their typical hater selves, hating on everything about the new girl Andrea but once Mehgan realizes that Andrea moved some of Mehgan’s things, the three decided to take matters into their own hands (kinda). Instead of confronting Andrea directly (like real women do), Mehgan calls upon her minions to plot and write “Don’t start drama that you can’t finish” on her picture. Really? P.A.Bs. Once Andrea comes home and finds this writing on her picture, she confronts the three and, of course, the chihuahua of the three (Julie) gets into a barking match with Andrea. I mean that’s all she knows how to do. Andrea directly challenges the three and asks them “are you going to hit me?”… and they do nothing. Weak a**es.
The girls all go out to party except for Mehgan and Julie. Falen seems to be pulling the most guys which prompts Christina to ask “how do you get all the guys?” WHO ASKS THAT?! Better question: WHAT BAD GIRL ASKS THAT? Of course, this one moment of vulnerability on Christina’s part leaves it open for Falen to call her weak. One slip up and the girl is weak. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
There is a definite divide between the girls as the whole house (except for Andrea) go against Christina after her blow up in La Paz. Rima (who, to me, is looking like the weakest of them all) stupidly bonds with the same girls who tortures her in the beginning and listen to them as they create lies about Christina. For example, Julie tells Rima that it was Christina who put water in her foundation, not Mehgan, as Christina told her. IT WAS MEHGAN! This, along with other lies, leave Rima boiling and pissed at Christina but she says nothing to Christina’s face. Weak.
Christina and Andrea, both, have some (un)noteworthy fights with their guys. Of course, these are not the showdowns we tune in for. The showdown we DO tune in for is between Christina and Rima this episode, as Christina gets tired of Rima’s side eye-ing her. Christina confronts Rima and the two get into a fight where Christina knocks Rima’s block off….
The episode ends here and I would love to say see you guys next week for the next episode’s recap, however, but Oxygen has been pretty finicky with their scheduling and episode premieres. Rumor has it that the Episode 7 of BGC will be three weeks from now. I guess I will see you guys then!
By the way… either Rima and Christina go home next week due to this episode’s fight!
CHECK THE COMMENTS FOR A SPOILER!
The season finale of “Love and Hip-Hop: Atlanta” was not as eventful but seem to have been used to prime the viewers for a possible season 2 of LHHATL! The scenes were pretty scattered and hopped from character to character so excuse me if this recap is in that same format:
The episode begins with Erika and Scrappy talking over their problems. Both of them seem to have really thought things over and were speaking as if they really had their hearts open, especially Scrappy. I guess he got the h*e out of his system. He still didn’t really admit that him and Shay had something going on but, as Erika said, you can look at Shay and see “SL*T BUCKET!” I love Erika and I really don’t think she should get back together with Scrappy. Karlie Redd meets up with Roscoe Dash in order to talk about possibly doing a song together but she couldn’t keep her h*e ways under wraps for too long. Karlie Redd was outright flirting with Roscoe Dash knowing that she had Benzino, telling Roscoe Dash that her relationship with Benzino is on the rocks. Uhh, does Benzino know this?
TV’s hottest threesome (Mimi, Stevie and Joseline) meet up in a counseling session again except Stevie J walked in with a completely different demeanor. To start, he came in wearing a “I Am God” t-shirt. Oh goodness, Stevie J and Joseline made a bit of a mockery of the session as Joseline admits that she accepts Stevie as he is. She tells the therapist that Stevie has had sex with her best friend, in her bed… while she was watching. This h*e… Stevie J suggests that the two women are riding his coat tails and he calls the shots. Right… From here, Mimi makes the decision that she no longer wants to associate with Stevie J anymore. Too bad Mimi is the boy who cried wolf because we’ve been hearing this tune since episode 1.
Stevie J calls Joseline into the studio to possibly due a song with his new artist “Che Mack” but things go awry when Joseline walks in just as Stevie J was rubbing on her arms. This sets Joseline off which is completely ridiculous. Joseline… that’s how he got you. What made you think that he wasn’t doing that with the next girl? Benzino calls Karlie Redd to meet him in a restaurant where the fool actually… PROPOSES (kinda). The words “will you marry me?” was actually never said, and when Karlie Redd asks if he was ready, his response was to “no.” Oh, it gets worst. Not only did he take the ring away, he also dumped her on site! Oh, this fool is cold-blooded! Rasheeda and Kirk have a beautiful ceremony in which they renew their friends in front of their friends and family.
The episode wraps up by giving a quick synopsis of each of the characters:
Stevie J: still a perv whipping his lil Stevie out on women he bring to the studio.
Mimi: busying herself with her daughter and business.
Joseline: is delusional and think she is a pop star instead of just a stripper off the pole. NEWS FLASH: you are the second one.
Erika: moving into a new house alone but working on herself.
Scrappy: still a basic n*gga whose actions are dictated my his momma.
Karlie Redd: hopped on the next guy’s d*ck, Roscoe Dash.
K. Michelle: still telling her story even though no one is listening.
Rasheeda: on the rise and having a great relationship.
Can’t wait for the Reunion which I will be providing a recap for as well (of course). Let’s all keep our fingers crossed for a season two but Mona Scott-Young would be a complete idiot if she didn’t make one!

The Season Finale of “Mob Wives Chicago” premiered last night and it was definitely not what I was expecting. There was no big season finale fight, no “to be continued” scenes, nothing. I mean, I was definitely tuned in intently to see what occurred with Nora and her exhuming her father’s body but other than that… the show was more boring than the rest of season.
Throughout the episode, the girls (minus Nora) go on an all day boating trip where, for the first time in the season, the girls all get along and are all smiles and laughs. It was weird not to have lingering animosity between the girls. While out on the trip, Nora and Renee both did a great job of not going off on rants about Nora. However, leave it to Leah and Christina, who have been complaining ALL season about Renee and Pia’s inability to let the Nora beef go, to bring up her name and basically force the two to talk about her. Even when Pia tried to change the subject after Christina brought up Nora, Christina went back to the topic and forced a response out of her. Ugh, I am completely over Christina.
Meanwhile, Nora is dealing with the B.S. from the funeral home where her father is “buried” and is given the run around. After a battle that took years to conquer, Nora finally got the court order to exhume her father’s body. All her work was almost deemed futile when she was met at the funeral home gate by police who arrested Nora for investigation! After being released (because there was no case), Nora finally was able to get within feet of what is supposed to be her father’s casket, but was advised not to look in due to the level of decomposition of the body. Nora was about to give up until the pathologist deemed it impossible to determine if the body was her father, “The German”, or not. She finally gets to look at the body and is also unable to identify her father. We learn upon the ending of this episode that after referring to some dental records, the body is her father. I am genuinely glad that Nora got some closure on that matter.
Well guys, it has been a great season (kinda) and it has all ended. I am not too sure yet if there will be a reunion show or if there will be a second season, however, I hope if there is a reunion show so that Pia and Renee can hash things out so that season 2 has fresh new fights!
Should there be a season 2 of “Mob Wives Chicago”?
Last night was the premiere of the hyped-up Oprah Winfrey interview with Rihanna. Oprah visits Riri’s homeland Barbados to discuss life, love and fame with the star and is given a personal tour of the island. Well to begin with this commentary, I will say watching this interview did bore me half to death but, sadly, the most entertaining part of the interview was when Oprah started to get into some questions about Chris Brown.
While watching this interview I couldn’t help but think… This isn’t the potty-mouth nymphomaniac we are used to. It was like watching a stripper behave in church. Okay guys, I am going to try not to be so hard on her. Oprah began to ask Rihanna about her Gran Gran Dolly and in her responses, my heart went out to her because you could see that she was really hurt by the lost of her grandma. She actually broke down a couple of times in trying to recount stories about her Gran Gran Dolly. I guess the “Hard” singer is really actually soft. Her softness actually becomes pretty apparent when she gushes about Chris Brown…but we will get to that in a second.
Oprah’s next round of questions delved into who Rihanna really is. She asked how did Rihanna become so comfortable with being sexy and Rihanna’s response was that was “fakes” it. I almost booked my flight to Barbados and called that girl out myself. If Rihanna has been faking this “sexiness” the whole time… I will never believe another word that comes out of her mouth. I would possibly believe that if she was only provocative in videos and songs, but Rihanna’s twitter account lets us know that this raunchiness is not only because “sex sells.”
Now, the hard hitting questioning about CHRIS BROWN. To be honest, this whole part of the interview enraged me and pissed me off ridiculously. When Rihanna confessed that when the incident occurred, she was more concerned with how the media was going to treat Chris Brown and that Chris Brown just needed help, I thought one thing:
Hi, Rihanna?… Ummm, this was your face. If you were more concerned with yourself, maybe this could have been avoided. I am definitely not trying to minimize what happened to Rihanna and I understand someone being selfless but this girl was beaten senseless and her first thought was concern for her abuser? Let’s just attribute that confession to her being so young and not knowing any better. Moving on, Rihanna also admits that Chris Brown was the love of her life and that they are now “close” friends. This is another concept I am going to need some help with: people can forgive but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they need to be in your space. Things began to make more sense when Rihanna admitted that in order to forgive Chris Brown she had to fix her relationship with her father. All my judgement was pushed to the side because I understand how crucial it is for a young woman to have a great relationship with her dad and that relationship is fundamental to who the woman is as a person.
From here, the interview gets a little boring as Rihanna takes Oprah around Barbados and shows Oprah the place she called home for all of her childhood until she was discovered. The interview ends with Rihanna surprising her mother with a large, BEAUTIFUL home in Barbados. Her mother was definitely more happy with the fact that her first house guest was Oprah rather than the fact that she just got a HUGE home courtesy of her daughter.
Conclusion: I definitely went to the interview skeptical about how it would turn out. I do still believe that Rihanna wasn’t being herself and she is a lot more provocative and raunchy than she made it seem. I still think that Rihanna’s comments about Chris Brown were completely asinine but considering that she has had such a rocky relationship with her father, it is understandable. She is just a lost and hurt individual. Despite anything I have said on this blog, though, the b*tch makes great music and she is an artist I hate to love!
R.I.P. Gran Gran Dolly.
Ohhh man, things on LHHATL is definitely getting interesting on and off the screen. The last time we saw K. Michelle and Rasheeda, the two were having lunch where K. Michelle blew up at Rasheeda after Rasheeda question her accusations about Rasheeda’s friend and K. Michelle’s ex, Memphitz. Well, it seems as though the tension between the two is a lot higher than what we saw on the screen because something has compelled Rasheeda to go OFF about K. Michelle via Twitter and Instagram. Here is a photo she posted and its caption.
“Here is my reply! I find it real sad how this desperate rat Fake.Michelle can’t keep my name out her mouth. It’s sad how a person wants sympathy but every word & gesture out of her mouth is slapping a bitch and whooping a bitch ass. First, when you see Toya you gone slap her on site (YEAH RIGHT), then you threaten to whoop Kandi ass but when you seen her at the hair salon you was quiet as a mouse. Now, today u have another interview out claiming your only regret was you wish you would of slapped the shit outta me & hit me with a 1/2 punch. That alone should make people question your character. All of our careers Me, Kandi & Toya we have been nothing but positive women to the public. Everything you say is violent. You keep preaching about being abused but threatening to abuse others. You hit Karlie in the head with some silverware, she should of pressed charges against your ass. But my point here is, we are witnessing you physically & verbally abusing several women via interviews, blogs & twitter bullying and it’s a sad ass shame for someone who is claiming to be a victim. You’re playing the public trying to make them think you were abused but we know that story has a lot of holes in it. So, the police came to the hotel and seen you beat & abused like you telling the world and didn’t lock up a black man in Memphis, TN???? Bitch please, where they do that at! You claiming you didn’t want to press no charges, but they would of took that into there own hands by law. Its a shame you trying to sell this old ass story but keep threatening to hurt others in the process. The sad part is the media & the fans have to wait and continue to watch you self-destruct while everybody else already know the truth about you. Sorry ya’ll! As far as any woman who has been a victim of domestic violence my heart goes out to you all and I wish you nothing but the best but this chick right here is a FUCKING FRAUD!!“
You know, Rasheeda, when you put it that way… You are kind of right. All we’ve seen from K. is violence. Not to take sides or anything but I got my eyebrows raised after this one.
Here is K. Michelle’s response to Rasheeda’s tweet and photo:
What do you guys think of K. Michelle and Rasheeda’s beef?
